Polymer Science from IIT Kharagpur and Masters in Chemistry from North Eastern Hill University, Shillong, Meghalaya. She conducted research at National Chemical Laboratory, Pune as a DST Young Scientist Fellow, University of Marburg, Germany as an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow and Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. Born in Assam, Susmita grew up in the midst of eastern Himalayas in Arunachal Pradesh, India. She has lived in Germany, USA, Canada and The Netherlands. Susmita spent 13+ years working with international companies like Bayer in Canada & US, Lanxess in North America and Germany and DSM in The Netherlands. She has held different positions along the verticals including that of Global Technical Director at DSM Elastomers, The Netherlands. Susmita’s career path has intersected multiple industries, markets and disciplines. This has provided her with the opportunity to interact with a myriad population of humanity across the globe. Passionate about making a difference, Susmita wants to touch lives of people. Susmita loves to bring technology to masses for improving quality of life. While working in The Netherlands, Susmita conceived the idea of a social enterprise for providing clean energy solutions to millions of people in India who live without electricity or face long periods of power cut. Her conviction in the concept made Susmita relocate to India in 2011. She founded Pushan Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd. in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India.
