Pasteurization Unit

Pasteurization, also known as pasteurization, is a food preservation process in which packaged and unpackaged foods (such as milk and fruit juices) are heated to less than 100 °C (212 °F) to kill pathogens and extend shelf life. The sterilization and pasteurization processes demonstrate the use of heat transfer as a unit operation in food processing very well. The temperatures and times required are determined, and then the heat transfer equipment is designed using heat-transfer equations.
